Bells with electromagnetic strikers, Church of St Panteleimon and St Paraskevi

A foundry of tuned bells since 1930

Orthodox church bells for parishes in America and abroad

In our own foundry we cast and tune bells for Orthodox churches, each to its own note — and we take on the project as far as installation, abroad as well.

Who we are

A family of bell makers since 1930

The Tsitouras family has been casting bells since 1930; today the third generation carries on the work. Every bell is cast and tuned in our own foundry in Mandra, Attica — in 37 standard sizes from 5 to 4,250 kg (11 to 9,370 lb) or in a size made to order. Every bell can bear the name of the church, its saint and the donors, in any language and alphabet.

Our tuned bells are pitched to notes of the major scale, so that they ring in harmony together and, with an automatic bell-ringing system, play hymns (troparia). Our bell-ringing controllers come with hundreds of ringing patterns of the Orthodox tradition ready to use — 450 on the MELODY — and, optionally, you can ring the bells from a distance, by remote control or from your phone over Wi-Fi.

How we work

From the initial study to installation

For churches abroad, we work with the parish or the community from the initial study through to installation.

  • 01

    A proposal from photos

Send us photos and dimensions of your bell tower; we will propose sizes, notes and how the bells will be rung.

  • 02

    Cast at our foundry

Every bell is cast, tuned and tested at our foundry before it leaves for your church.

  • 03

    Packing and shipping

We take care of packing and shipping, always in line with European Union law.

  • 04

    Installation

As in Batumi, we see the project through to installation. Tell us your country, so that we can plan the shipping, the installation and the local electrical requirements.

Get started

What to send us

  • How many bells the church already has and the diameter of each bell at the mouth — or how many new bells you would like.
  • Photos of the bell tower: the openings, the beams and the access.
  • Whether the bell tower has electricity, for the automation.
  • The country and city of your church.

First, hear how our bells sound and explore the ringing patterns our controllers play.

Tell us about your parish — we’ll reply with a proposal
