User guide: New touch-screen controller

Ring a melody now

1. On the «ΑΡΧΙΚΗ ΟΘΟΝΗ» (home screen), tap «ΜΕΛΩΔΙΕΣ» (melodies).
2. The list appears, e.g. «001 ΕΣΠΕΡΙΝΟΣ» (Vespers), «002 ΟΡΘΡΟΣ» (Orthros)…, with a number keypad next to it.
3. Tap the melody in the list or type its number on the keypad (e.g. 003).
4. The «ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑ» (melody) screen opens, with the name, «ΔΙΑΡΚΕΙΑ» (duration) and «ΤΑΧΥΤΗΤΑ» (speed).
5. If you wish, tap the duration or the speed to change it: OK keeps the change, «ΑΚΥΡΟ» (cancel) leaves it unchanged.
6. Tap «ΕΚΤΕΛΕΣΗ ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑΣ» (play melody). The melody rings straight away.

Save a melody to memory M1–M12

1. «ΑΡΧΙΚΗ ΟΘΟΝΗ» (home screen) → «ΜΕΛΩΔΙΕΣ» (melodies) → choose the melody.
2. On the «ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑ» (melody) screen tap «ΑΠΟΘΗΚΕΥΣΗ ΣΤΗΝ ΜΝΗΜΗ Μ1 - Μ12» (save to memory M1–M12).
3. Tap the M button (M1 to M12) where you want the melody to go. With «ΑΚΥΡΟ» (cancel) it is not saved.
4. Another way: «ΑΡΧΙΚΗ ΟΘΟΝΗ» → «ΜΕΝΟΥ» (menu) → «4.ΑΠΟΘΗΚΕΥΜΕΝΕΣ ΜΝΗΜΕΣ Μ1-Μ12» (saved memories M1–M12). Here you see what each memory holds, e.g. «Μ1 - 003 ΔΟΞΟΛΟΓΙΑ» (M1 – 003 Doxology), «Μ4 - ΚΕΝΗ» (M4 – empty).
5. Tap the M you want, type the melody’s number and it is saved.

Change the time

1. «ΑΡΧΙΚΗ ΟΘΟΝΗ» (home screen) → «ΜΕΝΟΥ» (menu).
2. Tap «1.ΡΥΘΜΙΣΕΙΣ ΡΟΛΟΓΙΟΥ» (clock settings), or 1 in the row of numbers at the bottom.
3. Tap «1.ΡΥΘΜΙΣΗ ΩΡΑΣ» (time setting).
4. Type the time as «ΩΩ:ΛΛ» (HH:MM) with the number buttons.
5. Tap OK. «ΑΚΥΡΟ» (cancel) exits without changes.

Change the date

1. «ΑΡΧΙΚΗ ΟΘΟΝΗ» (home screen) → «ΜΕΝΟΥ» (menu) → «1.ΡΥΘΜΙΣΕΙΣ ΡΟΛΟΓΙΟΥ» (clock settings).
2. Tap «2.ΡΥΘΜΙΣΗ ΗΜΕΡΟΜΗΝΙΑΣ» (date setting).
3. Type the date as «ΗΗ/ΜΜ/ΕΕΕΕ» (DD/MM/YYYY), e.g. 01/01/2025.
4. Tap OK. «ΑΚΥΡΟ» (cancel) leaves it unchanged.

Summer / winter time

1. «ΑΡΧΙΚΗ ΟΘΟΝΗ» (home screen) → «ΜΕΝΟΥ» (menu) → «1.ΡΥΘΜΙΣΕΙΣ ΡΟΛΟΓΙΟΥ» (clock settings).
2. Tap «4. ΑΛΛΑΓΗ ΧΕΙΜΕΡΙΝΗΣ/ΘΕΡΙΝΗΣ ΩΡΑΣ» (winter/summer time change).
3. For the time to change by itself: «ΤΕΛΕΥΤΑΙΑ ΚΥΡΙΑΚΗ ΟΚΤΩΒΡΙΟΥ / ΜΑΡΤΙΟΥ» (last Sunday of October / March) must be «ΕΝΕΡΓΟΠ.» (enabled).
4. If you do not want it to change: enable «ΔΕΝ ΑΛΛΑΖΕΙ» (does not change). The automatic change then switches off and appears faded.
5. Tap OK. «ΑΚΥΡΟ» (cancel) exits without changes.

Synchronise the bell tower clock (hands)

1. «ΑΡΧΙΚΗ ΟΘΟΝΗ» (home screen) → «ΜΕΝΟΥ» (menu) → «1.ΡΥΘΜΙΣΕΙΣ ΡΟΛΟΓΙΟΥ» (clock settings).
2. Tap «3.ΡΥΘΜΙΣΗ ΡΟΛΟΪ ΚΑΜΠΑΝΑΡΙΟΥ» (bell tower clock setting). The screen asks for the time shown by the hands of the bell tower clock.
3. Look at the bell tower clock and type the time it shows right now, as «ΩΩ:ΛΛ» (HH:MM).
4. Tap OK. «ΑΚΥΡΟ» (cancel) leaves it unchanged.

⚠ Based on a draft of the screens. The connection and the pulse of the outside clock are set by the technician — if the clock does not move at all, contact the company.

New automatic programme (weekly or monthly)

1. «ΑΡΧΙΚΗ ΟΘΟΝΗ» (home screen) → «ΜΕΝΟΥ» (menu) → «2.ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΙΣΜΟΣ» (programming).
2. Tap «1.ΕΒΔΟΜΑΔΙΑΙΟ» (weekly: rings every week) or «2.ΜΗΝΙΑΙΟ» (monthly: the same, but only within a range of dates, e.g. «01/03 ΕΩΣ 30/06», 01/03 to 30/06).
3. Tap «*ΝΕΟ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑ» (new programme).
4. Tap «ΚΤΥΠΗΤΗΣ ΩΡΩΝ / ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑ» (hour striker / melody) until it shows «ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑ» and enter the melody’s number (e.g. 050).
5. Set «ΩΡΑ ΑΡΧΗΣ» (start time) and «ΔΙΑΡΚΕΙΑ» (duration). In «ΜΗΝΙΑΙΟ» also set «ΗΜΕΡΟΜΗΝΙΕΣ» (dates, from – to).
6. In «ΗΜ. ΕΒΔΟΜΑΔ.» (days of the week), tap «(ΟΛΕΣ)» (all) for every day, or «(ΗΜΕΡΕΣ)» (days) and mark the ones you want: «ΔΕ, ΤΡ, ΤΕ, ΠΕ, ΠΑ, ΣΑ, ΚΥ» (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun) — the selected ones change colour.
7. Tap «ΑΠΟΘΗΚΕΥΣΗ» (save).
8. The programme appears in the list, e.g. «ΜΕΛ. Νο.050 ΩΡΑ (17:01) ΔΙΑΡΚ (00:01:00) ΗΜΕΡ. (ΤΡ,ΣΑ,ΚΥ)» (melody no. 050, time 17:01, duration 00:01:00, days Tue, Sat, Sun).

You can create as many programmes as you want. For ringing only once (feast day, patronal feast), see “New controller: Programme for a single day”.

Programme for a single day (feast day, patronal feast): «ΕΞΑΙΡΕΤΙΚΟ» (special)

1. «ΑΡΧΙΚΗ ΟΘΟΝΗ» (home screen) → «ΜΕΝΟΥ» (menu) → «2.ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΙΣΜΟΣ» (programming) → «3.ΕΞΑΙΡΕΤΙΚΟ» (special).
2. Tap «*ΝΕΟ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑ» (new programme).
3. In «ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑ No. / ΚΤΥΠΗΤΟΣ ΩΡΩΝ» (melody no. / hour striker), leave «ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑ» (melody) and enter the melody’s number.
4. Set the «ΗΜΕΡΟΜΗΝΙΑ» (date), e.g. 25/03/2025, the «ΩΡΑ ΑΡΧΗΣ» (start time) and the «ΔΙΑΡΚΕΙΑ» (duration).
5. Tap «ΑΠΟΘΗΚΕΥΣΗ» (save); «ΑΚΥΡΟ» (cancel) does not save.
6. The list shows e.g. «ΜΕΛ. 163 ΗΜ/ΝΙΑ (25/03/25) ΩΡΑ (08:01) ΔΙΑΡΚ (00:01:25)» (melody 163, date 25/03/25, time 08:01, duration 00:01:25).

The «ΕΞΑΙΡΕΤΙΚΟ» programme rings only once, on the date you set.

See, change or delete a programme

1. «ΑΡΧΙΚΗ ΟΘΟΝΗ» (home screen) → «ΜΕΝΟΥ» (menu) → «2.ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΙΣΜΟΣ» (programming) → choose «ΕΒΔΟΜΑΔΙΑΙΟ» (weekly), «ΜΗΝΙΑΙΟ» (monthly) or «ΕΞΑΙΡΕΤΙΚΟ» (special). You see the list of saved programmes.
2. Tap the programme — «ΕΠΕΞΕΡΓΑΣΙΑ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΟΣ» (edit programme) opens.
3. Change the melody, time, duration or days and tap «ΑΠΟΘΗΚΕΥΣΗ ΑΛΛΑΓΩΝ» (save changes).
4. To delete it, tap «ΔΙΑΓΡΑΦΗ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΟΣ» (delete programme).
5. To exit without changes, tap «ΑΚΥΡΟ» (cancel).

Hourly strikes (hour striker) and hours when it stays silent

1. «ΑΡΧΙΚΗ ΟΘΟΝΗ» (home screen) → «ΜΕΝΟΥ» (menu) → «2.ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΙΣΜΟΣ» (programming) → «1.ΕΒΔΟΜΑΔΙΑΙΟ» (weekly) → «*ΝΕΟ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑ» (new programme).
2. Leave the choice on «ΚΤΥΠΗΤΗΣ ΩΡΩΝ» (hour striker), not «ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑ» (melody).
3. In «ΩΡΑ ΑΡΧΗΣ» (start time) set from when it strikes the hours (e.g. 07:55) and in «ΩΡΑ ΤΕΛΟΥΣ» (end time) until when (e.g. 22:05).
4. Choose the days: «(ΟΛΕΣ)» (all) or specific ones, «(ΗΜΕΡΕΣ)» (days).
5. Tap «ΑΠΟΘΗΚΕΥΣΗ» (save). The list shows e.g. «ΚΤ.ΩΡ. ΩΡΑ (07:55 ΕΩΣ 14:05) ΗΜΕΡ. (ΟΛΕΣ)» (hour striker, time 07:55 to 14:05, all days).

⚠ Based on a draft of the screens. Which striker strikes the hours, the half-hours and the quarters is set by the technician — if you want a change, contact the company.

Record a new melody

1. «ΑΡΧΙΚΗ ΟΘΟΝΗ» (home screen) → «ΜΕΝΟΥ» (menu) → «3.ΕΓΓΡΑΦΗ ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑΣ» (record melody).
2. In «ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑ No.» (melody no.) type the position number — preferably a position marked «ΚΕΝΗ» (empty) — and tap «ΕΓΓΡΑΦΗ ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑΣ».
3. The «ΕΝΑΡΞΗ ΕΓΓΡΑΦΗΣ ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑΣ» (start melody recording) screen shows the number and name (e.g. «080 ΚΕΝΗ») and «ΔΙΑΡΚΕΙΑ 00:00:00» (duration 00:00:00) — the recording is waiting.
4. As soon as you strike the first bell, the recording and the duration count start.
5. When you have finished, tap «ΑΠΟΘΗΚΕΥΣΗ ΕΓΓΡΑΦΗΣ» (save recording), or «ΑΚΥΡΟ» (cancel).
6. On the «ΑΠΟΘΗΚΕΥΜΕΝΗ ΝΕΑ ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑ» (new melody saved) screen, tap «ΕΚΤΕΛΕΣΗ ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑΣ» (play melody) to hear it or «ΑΛΛΑΓΗ ΟΝΟΜΑ ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑΣ» (change melody name) to give it a name.

⚠ Based on a draft of the screens — if your screen is different, contact the company. The draft does not say what happens if you record over a position that already has a melody; so choose a «ΚΕΝΗ» position.

Change a melody’s name

1. «ΑΡΧΙΚΗ ΟΘΟΝΗ» (home screen) → «ΜΕΝΟΥ» (menu) → «5.ΔΙΑΧΕΙΡΗΣΗ ΣΥΣΚΕΥΗΣ» (device management) → «4.ΟΝΟΜΑ ΜΕΛΩΔΙΩΝ» (melody names).
2. In «ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑ No.» (melody no.) type the melody’s number (e.g. 025).
3. Tap «ΑΛΛΑΓΗ ΟΝΟΜΑ ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑΣ» (change melody name). A keyboard appears (Greek and English).
4. Type the new name. The melody’s number never changes.
5. Tap «ΑΠΟΘΗΚΕΥΣΗ ΑΛΛΑΓΩΝ» (save changes), or «ΑΚΥΡΟ» (cancel).

Right after recording a new melody, the same «ΑΛΛΑΓΗ ΟΝΟΜΑ ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑΣ» button also appears on the «ΑΠΟΘΗΚΕΥΜΕΝΗ ΝΕΑ ΜΕΛΩΔΙΑ» (new melody saved) screen.

⚠ Based on a draft of the screens. In the «ΔΙΑΧΕΙΡΗΣΗ ΣΥΣΚΕΥΗΣ» menu, do not change the clock, hour striker and electromagnetic striker settings — they are for the technician.

Screen language

1. «ΑΡΧΙΚΗ ΟΘΟΝΗ» (home screen) → «ΜΕΝΟΥ» (menu) → «5.ΔΙΑΧΕΙΡΗΣΗ ΣΥΣΚΕΥΗΣ» (device management).
2. Tap «5.ΕΠΙΛΟΓΗ ΓΛΩΣΣΑΣ» (language selection).
3. Tap «ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΑ» (Greek) or «ΑΓΓΛΙΚΑ» (English); the selected language is shown in a different colour.
4. Tap «ΑΠΟΘΗΚΕΥΣΗ» (save); «ΑΚΥΡΟ» (cancel) leaves it unchanged.

Technician settings: «ΔΙΑΧΕΙΡΗΣΗ ΣΥΣΚΕΥΗΣ» (device management)

This setting is done by our technician.

Maintenance of the electromagnetic strikers (oiling)

1. Every 3 or 4 months, oil the plungers of the electromagnetic strikers with machine oil.

⚠ This work is done up in the bell tower. If access is not safe or you are not sure, call the company to have the technician do it.
